Would you like to discover Paris in an original way? Forget for a moment the square of the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, the first floor of the Eiffel Tower or even the observation deck of the Montparnasse Tower. The Deux Girafes team invites you to take a fresh view of the capital… from its bridges!

The Seine, the bridges, and Paris ...

You’ll be spoiled for choice because there are no fewer than 37 bridges spanning the Seine. In fact, there’s 49 pedestrian bridges crossing the river and canals. Why mention it? Because the quays of the Seine are quite simply magical. What’s more, the city is filled with iconic monuments, including the Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the National Assembly, the Place de la Concorde and its Obelisk, and also the very contemporary Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum and the François Mitterrand Library. What better way to appreciate these magnificent landmarks than from the viewpoints of the capital’s various bridges?

And if you must make a choice ...

We can’t talk about the bridges of Paris without mentioning a few and therefore having to choose. Among the unmissable ones are the oldest of all, the Pont Neuf and its mascaron decorations, as well as the most sumptuous bridge, the Pont Alexandre III with its gleaming candelabra and copper and bronze statues. We simply could not overlook the Pont des Arts so dear to lovers, and the Pont Mirabeau, celebrated in a poem by Apollinaire. We also have a particularly soft spot for the Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir, where soft mobility is the theme. With its flowing architecture, this lenticular truss bridge connects two of the most active and innovative Parisian districts. It also emphasises the city's desire to be part of a more environmentally friendly future in which green spaces, pedestrians and cyclists are key.

Discover the bridges of Paris! You can then try to answer this very difficult question: what is the most beautiful bridge in Paris?
