Here’s a place that your Hotel Les Deux Girafes team likes to tell you about: the Atelier des Lumières. Offering a new, more playful and inclusive vision of art, the Atelier allows you to fully immerse yourself in an artist’s world. We’re certain the effect will be truly exceptional when it involves the amazing work of Dali and Gaudi.

The Atelier des Lumières: spaces, shapes and colours

This former foundry, a vestige of 19th century industrial Paris, has found a second life thanks to the Culturespaces Foundation. The building’s large walls and floors are used to show projected works in a totally dynamic and immersive way. The compelling imagery, the play of symmetries and volumes, as well as the light, give depth and life to paintings and drawings. Art enthusiasts can take the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the works being digitally exhibited, while neophytes can discover, at their own pace and in their own way, the pleasure of artistic contemplation and appreciation. Van Gogh, Cézanne, Klimt and Chagall have already been in the spotlight.

Spanish modernism and surrealism in the spotlight

Two exceptional figures of 20th century Spanish creativity are highlighted this year at the Atelier des Lumières: Antoni Gaudi and Salvador Dali. Gaudi, a Catalan architect who gave Barcelona so many UNESCO heritage masterpieces, fascinates with his geometric patterns inspired by nature. The artist Dali takes us into his colourful world of bewitching and iconic shapes and characters. The dynamic projections of the Atelier des Lumières will emphasise the sense of movement and interplay of composition and symmetry in the works of the two creators.

Each new exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières is an event not to be missed. Discover these two exhibitions very soon!
