Every quarter, Hôtel Les Deux Girafes opens its doors to a contemporary artist, transforming its walls into a living gallery in the heart of Paris’s 11th arrondissement. This autumn, the hotel welcomes François Ferrier, a multidisciplinary Parisian artist born in 1976, whose singular universe invites both contemplation and reflection.

An artistic journey between vulnerability and human traces

François Ferrier’s early paintings highlight the fragility of the human condition. Gradually, his works evolved into more minimalist landscapes, where humanity is no longer directly represented but is suggested through traces of its passage: a road, an architectural fragment, a memory engraved in matter. This artistic transition reflects a deep exploration of memory and disappearance.

From photography to experimental video

Alongside his pictorial work, François Ferrier develops a photographic practice and creates experimental videos. These have given rise to La Lanterne Magique, a project at the crossroads of reality and imagination. This cinematic world, imbued with sensuality, dreamlike imagery, and melancholy, forms the foundation of a new series of works.

The Villa series at Hôtel Les Deux Girafes

For this exhibition, François Ferrier presents Villa, a cycle of paintings where architecture becomes a setting of light and silence, inhabited by enigmatic female figures. Between mystery and luminosity, these silhouettes invite the viewer on a meditative journey, at the border between reality and dream. A unique aesthetic and sensory experience to discover in the elegant, design-focused atmosphere of Hôtel Les Deux Girafes.
